Introduction

This page will sum up the frequently asked questions about card rulings, and interpretations. If you don't find the answer you need in this page, you may be interested in reading the clarification/erratas page. You may also ask your question directly to the MLE team.

Ahriman

Ahriman's power of putting Nemesis cards under it and then put it >into  play.  First does it matter who the persona you're playing against, i.e. playing the Kurgan nemesis versus Katana?  Second, If I play a nemesis from Ahriman, can I still play a special from my hand?

1)  As the cards on the Nemesis say, they may only be played against that Persona, barring Watcher Database and such.
2)  Yes you can still play a Special, you are not playing the Nemesis, Ahriman is.

How many Master cards do I have with Ahriman ?

You have one "free" Nemesis. Then you lose one 1/2 Master slot for each Nemesis you add under Ahriman. Your Master limit is rounded down. You cannot have a Master limit below 0.

Consone

If both players are using Consone. Which Circle remains in play ?

Whoever won the coin toss/die roll plays theirs first, thereby meaning it would get knocked out by the second Circle.

Darius

What do you mean by Darius's persona power. in particular the first line, play up to 2 persona cards as pregrame, if each immortal has less than 6 master cards?

Darius is able to play cards from two different immortals in the same deck. In order to let your opponent know which immortals you will use, the two immortals Persona PreGames must be played as additional PreGame cards. Darius do not copy their power. So the PreGame are 100% useless. Moreover Darius cannot use cards from immortals who have a master limit of 6 or more.

Darius's duck what do you mean by Nullify any card that would prevent?

If there is a Catwalk in play, then you can play his duck normally. It is also true for all cards that prevent you from playing cards from your hand like Master's Advance or Kanis Hounds. On the other hand, the duck text do not allow you to dodge undodgeable attacks.

Is Darius affected by Nemesis cards that target Immortals PG he is using ?

No.

Graham Ashe

Can he take a basic attack and extend so that it now covers 3 grid squares, does one point of damage and cannot be a powerblow?
No.

Graham Ashe's power doesn't modify the grid or your attack. It only reduce the amount of damage to one and prevent them from being power blows. It additionally gives them the "Slash" trait needed to trigger effects like Lightning Strikes.

Highlanders

If I want to play Killer Precision I had to  state I was Duncan before my turn started, or could I be Connor and play it?  I know I Couldn't be Connor and use Duncan's persona power, does that apply to the immortal specific cards as well?

Faction rules state you can only play Persona specific cards when you are that Persona

Are they treated as one or three pre-game cards?

The Faction Personas are designed along the lines of Masquerade Tournament format  rules...They form a single persona in that if you lose your head once, thats it...however, each card is a seperate pre-game card, as they each take up a pg slot.  The Faction Personas allow the two Personas to function together in building a deck.

Is this new Persona vulnerable to either Nemesis (depending on which one you are using on any given turn)?  Both at all times?  What?

No, The Highlanders (or any Faction Persona) is not vulnerable to the Nemesis' of the individual Personas...we are considering making Faction Nemesis though.

Korda

Deadly Fan :  When does Korda extend the basic attacks by one grid? When he plays it, during resolution, during revelation (if it's Hidden)?

When he plays it. So the Korda player would have to note this on a piece of paper in order to avoid any unintentional mistake.

Deadly Fan and Mysterious Technique. How does they work together ?

TURN A
Player A plays MT plus 3 attacks.

Player B then chooses one card.

Player B has selected a basic attack.

The basic attack is unblockable and undodgeable.

Then, Player A may use the Fan power and make it a Slash
(one additional square, 1 damage).

TURN B
Player B must defend normally

Nail Studded Bat

Can the NSB's Impale be a Power Blow?  If so how much damage would the attack do?

The Basic 3 plus 2 from the Power Blow.

If Cracker Bob is playing with a Nail studded bat, can he play Master's Kill?

Yes, providing he does not play the card as a Head Shot...

Nick Wolfe

Clarification

Nick may start the game with a Weapon Of Choice in a Pre Game slot. However, it must be payed face down to indicate being disarmed.

Scimitar

Since the 3 guards for Scimitars are Standing D's, can you have all 3 up at the same time?

No. Unless you find a way to have multiple guards in play at the same time.

Generic Cards

Does Conner McLeod's persona ability to look at hidden attacks apply to Combat Tricks ?

No

Will Holy Ground Avoid CT's?

TCG's Holy Grounds currently do not affect CTricks. It is also true for Live Forever, Hogg and so on...

On the Roll dodges, where you become prone and have to roll to recover.  First is the prone part automatic? Second if successful you have a something in 6 chance of regaining your feet, do you roll right away after showing the defense was successful or next turn?  Third, if the defense was unsuccessful what are the chances? and when do you roll to recover?

You only become prone if Roll was the last dodge you played that turn.
You roll to recover your feet when you always can/do.

On cross block, you must discard 2 cards when you play this defense, what if you don't have 2 cards in you hand to discard?  Can you still play this defense, i.e. only card in your hand at the time?

No. You can't play it.

On Secret Identity, or any other card where you take the top card from your discard pile, how can you prevent someone from looking in their discard pile, and said cutting their Master Headshot to the top?

Player honesty.

Combat trick sneer, what do you mean no special card can be played until this defense has been resolved?

No special cards may be played until you resolve the defense for Sneer...no Holy Ground to get away

Are the two shoulder shoves supposed to do 2 separate things, left one gets rid of slashes, the right one gets rid of speical attacks?

yes.

If you are playing with MLE expansion your deck requirements are 9 basic attacks and _8_ basic blocks. Center Block and Middle Block are now basic blocks and must be included in any standard deck or it would be
illegal.

No. According to the online rule. You still need to include the same 6 basic blocks in your deck (UL,UC,UR,LL,LC,LR). The MLE basic blocks do not have to be included in your deck. The "basic" trait is just here to trigger effects from other cards like Silas or Shield.

If you have 2 Foresee the Unexpected cards in play can you have up to four unexpected situations in play?

No. They do not stack. You can only have two unexpected Situations in play.

Does the Immortal specific The End of Time include grided cards?

Yes.

What if I draw the second part of a plot with Unexpected Situation ?

Ignore all illegal Situations (Plot 2 for instance) until you find a legal situation. You must reveal the top card of your deck until you find a legal situation to put into play with Unexpected Situation.

Can I play a second Situation if Simple Mind is in play ?

No. Unexpected Situation doesn't overrule Situation restrictions like Simple Mind. In this case, Unexpected Situation would have no effect.

Is there a separate Unexpected slot for Situations and Locations or can there only be 1 of either in play. i.e. 1 UE Sit and 1 UE Location in play OR 1 UE Sit or 1 UE Location in play ?

1 UE Sit *and* 1 UE Location

What happens when two players both have Foresee the unexpected in play? Who gets to choose which stay in play
when a third unexpected situation is drawn? Does it default to player who draws the new situation?

Yes. If both players have a Foresee the unexpected in play, then when a player draws a new Unexpected Situation, *he* may choose which Unexpected Situation is discarded from play.

Superior Tactics : is this card really meant to limit the person playing it from playing edges as well?

Yes. If you play a Force of Will, *then* a Superior Tactics, it is okay. But you *cannot* play a Superior Tactics, *then* a FoW.

Signature cards

Can you use Signature cards from other immortals with MLE cards like Darius or Graham Ashe ?
No.

No MLE cards allows to you use Signature cards from other immortals with the possible exception of Mac (from Richie Rayan) that targets Signature cards from the Clan Mac Leod.
